Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQUni lends a hand to the Salvos 

Another overwhelming response from Rockhampton campus staff for the annual Salvos Christmas Appeal was received last week.

Donations from across campus were collected by Carol Burnett and Dan Bartlett with the help of the Facilities Management ‘mule'.

Included in the hampers were lots of yummy Christmas goodies for the kids, children's books and toys and several Big W vouchers kindly donated by the staff from the Library Directorate.

When Mr Ian Jones from The Salvation Army collected the hampers, he thanked the staff from CQUniversity for their kind donations and said "he enjoyed coming to campus each year as the quality and range of items donated by the University was just outstanding".
