Neuenfeldt busy with Seaman Dan events

CQU researcher Dr Karl Neuenfeldt has had a busy schedule, accompanying singer-songwriter Seaman Dan to major engagements.
Associate Professor Neuenfeldt, who helped launch Seaman's recording career, has helped conduct a workshop on Indigenous Maritime Music during the Flinders Island Dreaming component of the Ten Days on the Island festival on Tasmania's Flinders Island.
This week the duo are in Japan to participate in Queensland Week during the World Expo.
Flinders Island Dreaming kicked off the first weekend of Ten Days on the Island, providing invaluable workshops and master classes for local budding musicians. This event brought unprecedented opportunities for locals to show their talent and for the community to enjoy live performances from stars such as Walkabout Bob Wilson, Deniece Hudson, Ross Wilson (of Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock fame) and Torres Strait Islander Seaman Dan whose stories and songs they might otherwise never encounter.
