But on completing school some 17 years ago, Megan was disappointed with her OP score which proved career limiting.

Now the 34-year-old mother of 3 has found the motivation and inspiration to give her life's dream another chance.

She has been studying CQUniversity's Lift program - a program designed to bridge the education gap for mature age students wanting to have a career or life change.

Lift is a free 13-week program offered by distance study to help students meet the requirements to apply for university study.

"The Lift program has been really good for me. It has given me the motivation and skills to be able to achieve at university."

Megan praised the support and feedback she had received from the Lift staff. With three children under school age this has been vital.

"I find myself studying at night after the children are asleep. I've had good home support, but Lift also gave me the flexibility I needed."

Lift can be tailored to each individual applicant and ensures students develop the confidence, knowledge and skills to successfully undertake tertiary study.

"The Lift program gives you the basic skills - like researching, referencing and assignment writing - that will make beginning a university degree easier."

Megan plans to begin studying a Bachelor of Learning Management (Primary) in the near future.
