CQU Brisbane launches community and corporate engagement program
Published on 07 November, 2005
Members of Brisbane’s corporate community, CQU Brisbane International Campus staff and students celebrated the launch of TECC’s Community and Corporate Engagement program recently at the Royal on the Park.
Several of Brisbane’s prominent organisations were represented at the function, including Ennertrade, Singapore Business Association and Windsor Recruitment, along with professional bodies such as CPA and ACS Young IT Committee.
The Community and Corporate Engagement program identifies that students can complement their academic studies by contributing to Not-For-Profit and community organisations while at the same time developing their technical and practical skills in their field.
These skills, developed during the community engagement aspect of the program, are then utilised and recognised by commercial organisations in Brisbane (by supporting recommended students into employment during their studies and full-time work placement during their study breaks).
Gayle Carrick, Business Development Manager from John Davidson and Associates, was excited about the program launch and predicts that many opportunities will become available to CQU students. Ms Carrick was very impressed with the quality of the students who attended the function and made the comment that she was sure the program will be a huge success.
