The new programs' developer Cynthia Cowling and new academic Caroline Falconi attended the opening of the new facility in Sarina.

Ms Cowling said the clinic would not only accommodate the two students but co-owner John Murray had also offered to give them a lift to and from Mackay each day.

"The clinic is 34km south of Mackay and is therefore designated 'remote'.

"It is in keeping with the new programs serving the region, that students will be able to spend time in smaller remote clinics as well as larger facilities," Ms Cowling said.

"The programs welcome the support of John and Sharon Murray at the new clinic and look forward to a long and fruitful association."
