Published on 03 June, 2003
Thirty-six year 10 students from Rockhampton and surrounding districts Got SET for Uni this week when they experienced science, engineering and technology (SET) at a Central Queensland University one-day program.
This was the second Get SET for Uni program to be held this year with the final program to be staged on June 18. More than 100 students will have attended the program this year.
CQU Connections will facilitate the Get SET for Uni program to encourage students to consider career options in SET areas and to help students make informed decisions about their subject choices for years 11 and 12.
CQU Connections coordinator Olive Mallory said the University hoped to inspire students to consider SET courses in senior secondary school so as not to exclude options for tertiary study.
During the program students were involved in hands-on experiments.
