CQU’s Dean of the James Goldston Faculty of Engineering and Physical Systems, Professor Elizabeth Taylor has recently returned to Rockhampton after a spate of conference and board meetings throughout the country.
Professor Taylor was a guest speaker at the Australian Financial Review Conference, 'Skilling Australia', in Melbourne, where she spoke about women in engineering and balancing the skills base.
This was followed shortly after by the Board of Professional Engineers meeting in Brisbane, where Professor Taylor is the Chair.
She also attended the 4th ASEE/AaeE Global Colloquium on Engineering Education Australia in Sydney. Professor Taylor had been on the organising committee and was the co-chair (with Professor Jack Lohmann, Associate Provost and Professor, Georgia Institute of Technology) of the Transformation of the Discipline theme.
This was the fourth in a series of Global Colloquia initiated by the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and it incorporated the 16th Annual Conference for the Australasian Association for Engineering Education and the 11th Australasian Women in Engineering Forum. The Colloquium brought together over 300 delegate attendees from around the world.
Before returning, Professor Taylor attended the Australian Council Engineering Deans meeting in Sydney.
