Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Mackay staff don their favourite boardies 

Staff at CQU Mackay donned their brightest and most colourful boardshorts for a great cause on Friday.

PhotoID:10 National Boardshorts Day is a fun day all about young people, aimed at raising the awareness and funds for the work of peak youth organisation, Here for Life. Here for Life is committed to the empowerment of young people through promoting positive life skills aimed at the prevention of youth suicide. Mackay staff were more than happy to trade their more formal dress styles for the day to help this worthwhile cause. Badges were available on-campus for $2 in support of the organisation.
