Faculty Call Centre now operating

The Business and Law Call Centre has commenced operations in order to seek further enrolments for undergraduate students in Autumn Term and postgraduate students in Winter Term 2003.

The Centre aims to call all enquirers who have not yet made an application to study, as well as those who have deferred their studies and have not yet re-enroled for the 2003 Terms.

PhotoID:545 According to Faculty of Business and Law Marketing Manager, Darryl Parker, for the period of 1 November 2002 to 7 January 2003 there were 223 undergraduate enquirers and about 100 postgraduate enquirers who have not yet applied to study.

“These prospective students will be contacted to see if we can assist them any further with their decision to study in 2003," Mr Parker said.

Another function of the Call Centre will be to call distance education students to offer assistance with any study queries they may have.

This function has been put in place to maintain the relationship with those students who may feel more isolated than our on-campus students.

The Call Centre Operator will be able to assist the student with their queries immediately or re-direct them to another area of the university for assistance.

PhotoID:546 "We have identified 150 postgraduate students and 720 undergraduate students who are studying via distance education from our Spring and Summer Terms in which we will be calling in the next few weeks," Mr Parker said.

The Call Centre consists of two operators, Pat Couper and Maree Beckmann working under the guidance of Darryl Parker.

Pat and Maree have just completed comprehensive training in Peoplesoft and call centre techniques.
