CQU academic Yvonne Toft will head to Milan, Italy, in early June to help consolidate CQU's reputation and networks in the area of Occupational Health and Safety.
Ms Toft will attend the Congress of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH) and present Australia's bid to host the Congress in 2012.
She will also attend a range of ICOH scientific committee meetings to cement networks that will enhance educational and research opportunities for CQU in the area of OHS.
"Winning the right to host the ICOH Congress in Australia will be a great boost for the Australian OHS community, and CQU will be recognised as a major sponsor for its contributions to the preliminary stages and ongoing involvement," Ms Toft said.
"CQU offers arguably the most successful undergraduate OHS programs in Australia and a very successful fee-paying postgraduate program.
"Involvment in the Congress and in the planning for the ICOH2012 congress will enable ongoing ICOH-affiliated research and place our programs well for the future."
