Father and daughter share graduation moment

It is often said fathers and their daughters have a special bond. This was certainly the case for one local father who graduated from Central Queensland University alongside his daughter last Saturday.

PhotoID:2175 Dave Oliver received the PhD award for his research into Enterprise Resource Planning systems together with his eldest daughter Lorna graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Engineering Technology and an Advanced Certificate in Information Technology.

Dr Oliver is a senior lecturer in CQU’s Faculty of Informatics and Communication, while Lorna has been recruited by Woollahra Municipal Council in Sydney as a Traffic and Transport Planner.

Dr Oliver said this double graduation was a unique occasion for his family, celebrating the culmination of years of study for the pair.
