Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Cutting-edge Education Issues Detailed in Latest Book 

Research findings from ten Central Queensland University doctoral students have been included in Mackay Education & Creative Arts Sub-Dean Bruce Knight’s latest book. . The faculty’s third publication of its kind includes details relating to literacy outcomes, pre-service teachers, science, exams, curriculum change, children’s coping skills, on-line music education and intellectual capital. .

“Although the book won’t be a ‘best seller’ in mainstream bookshops, the publication does allow readers to access cutting-edge information relating to specific areas of the education discipline.” .
