“Ron is a loyal and committed friend of CQU. The naming of this building is a permanent reminder of his outstanding contribution to the University’s development and its success. Students, staff and University Council Colleagues are privileged to have worked with him and to have his continuing friendship,” said CQU Vice Chancellor and President Glenice Hancock.

As Member of Council and Chair of the Finance Committee with what was then known as the Capricornia Institute of Advanced Education (1981 to 1989), Ron worked hard to expand the University and increase opportunities for thousands of Central Queensland residents.

He held that position while assuming other committee responsibilities for commercial operations and finance of the University College of Central Queensland (1989-92)..
