The Australian Computer Society has accredited Central Queensland University's new Bachelor of Digital Innovation (BDI) at two specialisation levels.
The accreditation covers the Professional level with the Information Technology specialisation and the Associate level with the Interactive Environments specialisation.
BDI spokesperson Associate Professor Cathie Sherwood said that, following standard practice, the ACS accreditation was provisional until graduate standards could be assessed.
"The ACS Panel made particular mention of the innovative focus of the degree, with one member commenting that it was the most exciting degree program she had seen in numerous university accreditation reviews," Associate Professor Sherwood said.
"The ACS panel were very impressed with the calibre of the students they interviewed for the accreditation and made specific mention of this."
