Former CQUniversity academic and now Professor of Education Research Patrick Danaher recently returned to his old stomping ground to help our early career researchers gain confidence in preparing academic journal articles.
Professor Danaher, now based at USQ, facilitated a writers' workshop arranged by our Learning and Teaching Education Research Centre (LTERC), in conjunction with the international Studies in Learning, Evaluation, Innovation and Development (SLEID) Journal.

The workshop was conducted in Rockhampton with video links to participants in Gladstone, Bundaberg, Springfield and Toowoomba.
Participating researchers were encouraged to prepare submissions for a special themed issue of the SLEID journal entitled Wrestling, Wrangling and Reaping to be guest edited by Dr Jo Luck and Dr Dolene Rossi from CQUniversity.
A highlight of the workshop was the writers' panel for which Professor Brenda Happell and Associate Professor Bobby Harreveld spoke about their personal experiences with academic writing.
Professor Danaher's visit coincided with the departure from CQUniversity of his brother Dr Geoff Danaher, who has worked as a Lecturer at the Academic Learning Support Unit. Geoff was among participants in the workshop.
