Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Smart State website features CQU-sponsored competition 

A website promoting the Queensland Government's Smart State:Smart Stories project now features a competition sponsored by CQU's Faculty of Business & Law and the Australian Institute of Management.

The competition called The Young Entrepreneurs Initiative involved university students working with businesses in Rockhampton to develop marketing, financial and human resources plans.

Previously, Rockhampton's 10,000 Steps and the St Bees Island project of CQU's Koala Research Centre (involving a partnership with the Earthwatch international volunteers program) have also been highlighted via the Smart State website.
