Central Queensland University was featured at the fourth annual Thai Culture and Food Festival last month (March 18, 2007) at Federation Square and the River Terrace in Melbourne.

Thousands of visitors were attracted to the event for which CQU was a primary sponsor.

Two current CQU Thai students enthusiastically contributed their time at an information booth, providing information to prospective students on programs offered and on the congenial student life experience.

CQU prospectuses, backpacks, postcards, notebooks and balloons were handed out to visitors during the festival.

The event was a celebration by the Thai community - a showcase of its rich culture.

The festival commenced with a traditional blessing by 7 monks and an official opening ceremony.

The festival included a plethora of food stalls, booths, Thai dance performances, Thai kickboxing and even a Miss Thailand beauty contest.
