Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU recognised in metro media 

September has been a hot month for metropolitan coverage of CQU and CQU academics, with more than a dozen hits.

Helping to lead the charge was Professor Bob Miles from the Institute for Sustainable Regional Development, with a series of quotes about population trends in today's Australian newspaper.

Channel Nine's A Current Affair TV show has scheduled coverage about CQU graduate Lucy Holmes' new career as a Kylie Minogue tribute performer.

CQU's new video wall access grid was featured in the September edition of Engineers Australia.

Regional media coverage was also high during September, helping to boost interest in recruitment options.
