Published on 21 November, 2002
After three years in a theatre set within a Mackay canefield, graduates of Australia\'s only bachelor of music theatre degree have arranged their own showcase in Melbourne for agents and industry professionals.
They have also raised their own funds for the visit through performances, carwashes and catering ventures.
The eight graduates from Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music at CQU will present their showcase at the Chapel off Chapel Theatre in Prahran, from 3pm-5pm on Tuesday, December 3.
They will be confident after working with Australia\'s leading theatre industry mentors such as Toni Lamond, Nancye Hayes, Michael Turkic, John Wregg, Drew Anthony, Nathan Wright, Lynette Denny and Peta Doodson, as well as Jenny Ward (International Concert Attractions) and Joanne Adderley (Corporate Event Production and Management).
Their showcase creative team includes music theatre identity and director Will Conyers (founding director of the National Theatre Music Theatre course), CQCM lecturer Judith Brown (Coordinator of the Bachelor of Music Theatre degree program) and choreographer Joanne Adderley (former admin director of the National Theatre Ballet School).
