The display operating until the end of January features photos of pioneering staff and students, academic events and early shots of the campus grounds and buildings.

The original students enrolled in 1967 with the Queensland Institute of Technology (Capricornia), which was renamed as the Capricornia Institute of Advanced Education and later gained full university status and became Central Queensland University.

Early classes were held in the Technical College at Bolsover Street until the first building at Yaamba Road could be completed.
