Industrial Materials specialist the face of new Resourcing Queensland research flagship

CQU's Foundation Professor of Industrial Materials Science, Professor Richard Clegg is the face of the University's new Resourcing Queensland research flagship.

Professor Clegg this week took on the role as the main community and industry contact point for Resourcing Queensland.

‘Resourcing Queensland' integrates several research centres as pillars, including the Centre for Rail Engineering (CRE), the Process Engineering and Light Metals (PELM) Centre, the Centre for Environmental Management (CEM) and the Institute for Sustainable Regional Development (ISRD).

Professor Clegg said Resourcing Queesland would:

- focus its research efforts in the industrial environmental areas to enhance the international reputation of these areas;

- provide more effective networks and links locally and nationally to enhance both discipline-specific and cross-discipline research activities; and

- provide greater capacity and capability within available research expertise and facilities that link effectively with the industry sector.

Professor Clegg is based at the PELM Centre in Gladstone where he is already well known in the Gladstone region through his industry consultancy role.

He will continue with his leadership role for PELM, as well as developing the reputation of the new Resourcing Queensland flagship across CQU's various regional campus communities.

Professor Clegg can be contacted via r.clegg@cqu.edu.au or 4970 7338 and welcomes community feedback about priorities for the Resourcing Queensland flagship.
