Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

High schoolers 'meet the scientists' 

Around 160 Rockhampton region high school students recently (March 18) spent a day at CQUniversity Rockhampton to 'meet the scientists'...

Travelling around a campus circuit, the Year 11 students had the chance to interact with scientists involved in immunology, river issues, aquaponics, phytocapping, pharmacology and water quality.

Participating schools included Yeppoon SHS, St Ursula's College, Glenmore SHS, Rockhampton SHS, North Rockhampton SHS and Rockhampton Girls Grammar School.
