'Social impact of mining' on agenda in Gladstone during June

CQUniversity is co-presenting a conference on Sustainable Development in Resource-Intensive Regions, which will explore economic opportunities and their social impact in regional Australia.
This event is likely to be of interest to industry, mining and resource sector representatives as well as union leaders, academics and researchers focused on the social impacts of mining and resource economics.
The conference is being presented on our CQUniversity Gladstone Campus on June 28 by Australian public policy think tank the EIDOS Institute, in conjunction with CQUniversity and the University of Newcastle.
It will feature CQUniversity research leaders Professor Jennelle Kyd, Professor John Rolfe and Dr Anna Thomas, along with Professor Mike Calford and Professor Stephen Webb (both from Uni of Newcastle) and Dr Ken King (Gladstone Economic and Industry Development Board).
Other contributors include Graham Lucas from Energy Australia, Brad Mullard from the Department of Industry and Investment, Professor Ciaran O'Faircheallaigh from Griffith University and Dr Glen Corder from the University of Queensland.
