Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Beasts of the Southern Wild on the big screen at CQUni 

CQUniversity's Film and Arts Mackay (FAM) will hold their monthly film night on Friday, May 3 at the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM) theatre from 7.30pm.  

FAM will be showing USA film Beasts of the Southern Wild, a story about a six-year old girl named Hushpuppy, living in an isolated compound filled with semi-feral animals. When a hundred year storm raises the waters around her town and her dad is struck by illness, Hushpuppy sees the natural order of everything she holds dear collapsing around her.

A complimentary beverage and light supper will be provided. Entry fees are Library Society members $8 Non-members $12. Library Society and Gold Membership is available for only $25 per year.
