Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Golden Key chapter climbs standard ladder 

The CQU Chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society has been awarded with the second highest standard level for the 2005 year.

The Chapter was awarded with a silver level standing highlighting the Chapter’s high level of community involvement, chapter events, education projects and attendance at the International and Asia-Pacific Conference.

PhotoID:2922 The standards/levels which are awarded each year to each of the 350-plus, worldwide Golden Key chapters, include:.

 Gold level  Silver level  Bronze level  Good Standing  Not in Good Standing.

President of the CQU Chapter Connie Moore said the chapter had previously only been able to achieve the level of Good Standing for the 2004 year due to various circumstances.

“Being awarded the SILVER level for 2005 is a wonderful achievement for the CQU Chapter.”.
