Learning with joy, fun and happiness!

Under 8's Week in Mackay kicks off this week with a whole host of activities for the little ones - all designed to celebrate children in the early childhood years by helping them to learn with joy, fun and happiness.

PhotoID:2961 Early Childhood students from Central Queensland University (CQU) Mackay have organised a variety of activities at the Gordon White Library, particularly suited to children aged 3 to 8 years.

Activities commence on Saturday May 20 at 10.30am with ‘Pirate Fun’, where the children enjoy a fun-filled morning full of pirate antics, dancing, singing and making a pirate mask.

Other activities, including a ‘Puppet Show’, ‘Yoga for Children’ and ‘Gym Fun’, will take place at the Gordon White Library throughout Under 8’s Week. Bookings are essential as places are limited - phone 4944 3000.

Third-year students from CQU Mackay have designed these activities as part of their course “Advocacy, Leadership and Change in Early Childhood”, supported by their lecturer Bev Murphy.

The students have also scheduled activity days at Slade Point State Pre-school and Fitzgerald Pre-school to coincide with Under 8’s Week, May 19-26.
