Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Passport prize winners announced 

Luck was on the side of new Rockhampton resident Melissa Logan when her name was pulled out of the barrel as winner of this year’s Rockhampton Campus Open Day Passport competition.

PhotoID:3138 Melissa took home an HP Photosmart 7760 printer courtesy of Data3. This printer allows you to print normal documents and photos.

The competition was held as part of last weekend’s CQU Multicultural Fair and Open Day. Prospective students attending seminars and information sessions were encouraged to get their passports stamped at 3 or more locations, enabling them to enter the competition.

Second prize winner was Melissa Styles from Rockhampton who won an Apple iPod Nano. Third prize was two tickets to see Tail Oz Daha-Japanese Drumming program at the Pilbeam Theatre, courtesy of Queensland Rail. This was won by Louise Kerwin.
