Jazz fans can flock 'down by the Riverside'

CQUniversity and ABC Radio Capricornia will present Jazz at the Riverside, in Rockhampton's Riverside Park, from 2pm-4pm on Sunday May 30.
The free show will feature one of Australia's leading saxophonists Graham Jesse* with the CQUni Jazz Orchestra and other jazz and contemporary music ensembles from the Bachelor of Music program based in Rockhampton.

He is an accomplished performer, composer, arranger and producer, working in a diverse range of settings, from jazz clubs to concert halls, and in TV and recording studios. For 18 years Graham was a member of the Midday Show studio orchestra (TCN 9) and was one of the staff arrangers for Channel 9. Graham has worked with performers such as Peter Allen, Anthony Warlow, Grace Night, Silverchair and Ricky Martin. In 1988, the Sydney Musician's Union voted Graham most outstanding studio woodwind instrumentalist as part of the Bicentennial Music Week Awards. In 2006, Graham's composition Shoalhaven Sunrise (recorded by the Sydney All Star Big Band) received an APRA nomination for Most Performed Australian Jazz Work. Graham currently plays with and composes for the award winning Sydney All Star Big Band.
