Movie by moonlight at Gladstone campus

The first in a series of outdoor film nights was held on Saturday night at CQU Gladstone.

More than 150 people attended the first Movies by Moonlight event and were treated to pre-feature entertainment by local band, “Looking for Matt”, a range of food vendors and two foreign films.

PhotoID:1266 CQU Community Relations Officer Shannon Law said the aim of the event was to provide the Gladstone community with the opportunity to see films that don’t normally make it to the local cinemas or video shops.

“The crowd was a good representation of the Gladstone community and was made up of families with young children, teenagers, young adults, foreign film buffs, curious leisure goers and those just keen to do something different on a Saturday night.

“The feedback from those who attended was extremely positive with people really appreciating the attempt to bring something different to the Gladstone entertainment scene.".

The Movies by Moonlight series, sponsored by CQU and Queensland Alumina Limited, will run for another two months. The next sessions, again held at the back of the CQU Engineering Centre will be held from 6:30pm on Saturday April 17 (old Hollywood Classics) and Saturday May 22 (Australian Films).
