CQU's Dr Allan Harrison has been elected to the Executive Board of the National Association for Research in Science Teaching (NARST) in the US for a three-year term.
He attended his first board meeting last week in Dallas, Texas.
There are 10 board embers and a president.
Associate Professor Harrison, a senior lecturer in science education at CQU, will travel twice each year to the US for board meetings.
NARST is the premier science education research association.
Several Australians over the years have been board members and at present Dr Harrison is the only Australian serving on the board.
In 2002, Dr Alan Harrison gained the Early Career Research Award, presented by America's National Association for Research in Science Teaching (NARST).
