Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Noosa Hub celebrates 3rd graduation on Saturday 

CQU Noosa Hub has (Saturday, July 22) celebrated its third graduation ceremony, at the Sheraton Noosa Resort.

A total of 37 graduates attended - most from the innovative learning management program which has been praised at national level.

PhotoID:3302 Graduates included Noosa Councillor Lew Brennan and Noosa District State High School (Cooroy) teacher Ruth Davoren, who have completed Master of Learning Management degrees.

Bachelor degree graduates included Cheryl Edgeworth. Ms Edgeworth has obtained a permanent position in the Special Education Unit at Rosella State School in Gladstone, where she joins Sarah Wells, one of CQU Noosa Hub's first batch of graduates.

Jade Duckmanton, who delivered the speech on behalf of graduates, has a position at Golden Beach (Caloundra) State School.

The graduates heard from guest speaker Alan Rogers, Noosa Shire's Director of Community Services.

CQU Chancellor Rennie Fritschy officiated and Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Angela Delves also attended.
