Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Study options displayed at Careers Evening 

School leavers and mature-age students were offered a chance to discover what was on offer at Central Queensland University’s Mackay campus on Friday evening.

PhotoID:263 The Careers Evening allowed the University’s faculties to display course material and answer enquiries from those considering studying in 2003.

Details about Queensland Tertiary Admission Centre entry and special entry programs were also presented.

CQU Mackay’s Head of Campus Phillip Clift said the evening provided detailed advice for every course available.

“It is important that students discuss all tertiary options so their decision is informed and accurate,” he said.
