Our travelling Music and Music Theatre students have featured in a concert review in the University of Texas Student Voice, known as The Collegian.
Brownsville, Texas, was the last stop for the student tour of colleges in the United States, led by Dr Derrin Kerr.

Speaking about an improvised jam session with American students, Dr Kerr was quoted as saying:
"... one thing we learn is that while we have different accents and we speak different languages, music is a truly international language and once you start playing together you can make music together quite easily."
University of Texas spokesperson Alla Paroiatnikova said the concert was just the first collaboration and "we are looking to establish a partnership with CQUniversity".
"It would mean we can exchange students for short-term programs or short semesters," she is quoted as saying.
The Collegian staff writer Franciso Garza produced a rave review, saying the CQUniversity vocalists were stunning and the band was magnificent.

Dr Kerr said some of the tour's musical highlights have included:
- playing multiple concerts at the various music institutions;
- playing with and being workshoped by Jamey Abersold (the biggest name in jazz education in the world today);
- having a workshop with Harry Pickins and observing a rehearsal run by world-renowned jazz composer and arranger John La Barbra.
"We also went to an amazing gig in Chicago, the Cory Wilks Quintet. This weekend we are off to New York to hear Wynton Marsalis, Bobby McFerrin and others," he said.
"In a broader context, the trip has been fantastic in terms of developing the relationships with the institutions we have visited and the experience has had a big impact on the students.
"I think it has dramatically changed their perspective of themselves and how they fit into the larger music world."
