Noosa hosts 'Technology On the Move'

On the Sunshine Coast, students and teachers are building their understanding of Technology Education.
On Friday, September 14, Central Queensland University's Noosa Hub and Education Queensland Sunshine Coast Region worked together to give students and teachers hands-on experiences designing, making and evaluating a range of technologies and modeling quality classroom practice.
Second-year Bachelor of Learning Management students from CQU Noosa volunteered their time to provide a range of technology lessons and use the experience to assist with their assessment requirements.
Teachers and students from a number of local primary schools participated by designing and making puppets, playground equipment and desk caddies, testing products and solving problems.
The students responded with enthusiasm to the hands-on tasks and the teachers reported that the day was useful and relevant; they expressed interest in exploring the area further.
The day will be followed up in October when the Sunshine Coast Technology KLA Governance group will hold a professional development session on technology education for local teachers.
