Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

600+ due at CQU Sydney graduation 

More than 600 graduates from 38 nations are due to attend the CQU Sydney International Campus graduation, from 12.30pm on Tuesday August 29 in Sydney Town Hall.

They will hear from guest speaker Timothy Fitz-John Smith, the National Executive Officer of the Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET). ACPET is the national industry association for private providers of post-compulsory education and training.

The graduate delivering the closing address is Faisal Faisal, who last year attempted to become the first Iraqi to represent his country at a Winter Olympics (in the sport of skeleton), but narrowly failed to qualify.
