Melbourne award winners' citations

Dona Charuni Yapa Kulatunga (Master of Information Technology)

Since arriving in Melbourne 2 years ago from Colombo, Sri Lanka, Dona consistently achieved outstanding results while working part-time as a programmer with a local company.  This experience provided an opportunity to apply theory to practice which she valued.  While acknowledging her keen intellect, staff also admired her natural leadership qualities and willingness to assist fellow students.  In addition, Dona shared the highest grade point average on campus with another award winner, Jojo George, an achievement which indicates her capacity to pursue a career in software engineering.

Jojo George (Master of Information Systems)

Sharing the highest grade average on campus with Dona, Jojo from Kottayam in India was also widely recognised as an extremely capable student. While studying, he worked as a website development manager with a mortgage management firm and is currently responsible for completing a real estate portal.  Jojo's teachers describe him as a constant inspiration, always actively contributing, frequently leading class discussions and willing to mentor fellow students. They have no doubt he will achieve his dream of becoming an expert in project management and a successful entrepreneur in the Australian ICT industry sector.

Chi Yuen Wong (Master of Business Administration)

Jacky, as he prefers to be known, was unique among the award winners, having many years of industry work experience at home in Hong Kong prior to commencing formal tertiary studies. Despite initially not having a strong academic background, Jacky's maturity, consistent attitude and real life experience contributed to his attainment of impressive results, making his achievements even more commendable. He demonstrated leadership in group work and enjoyed interacting with diverse nationalities. His future plans include gaining experience in an education/marketing sector before starting a business of his own with links in Hong Kong, China and Australia.

Kajalben Hasmukhbhai Shah (Master of Professional Accounting)

Kajal's dedication and conscientious approach to her studies inspired both her teachers and fellow students and assisted her in achieving outstanding results.  Less than 2 years after arriving from her home town of Vadoora in India, she has gained local experience in a variety of customer service roles including casual work on campus assisting our marketing staff.  Kajal is very appreciative of her teachers' continuing support as she strives for her goals of completing CPA studies and gaining an accounting role in a bank or multinational company.
