Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Industry day puts a spotlight on rail research 

Railway engineering research will be under the microscope at an industry day to be held on Friday, September 30.

This free event will be held at the Dreamtime Cultural Centre Motel in Rockhampton from 8am.

The event will include a research update and will showcase commercial-ready projects in railway engineering including track system management, train and wagon dynamics, electrical projects and rail stress management.

Engineers, operations staff, derailment investigation staff and students with an interest in rail advances and development are invited to attend.

The industry day is timed to coincide with the conclusion of the Queensland Rail Permanent Way Conference, from September 26 to 29 and the RTSA Seminar held on the evening of September 29, both to be staged in Rockhampton.
