Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

All welcome at 'body and peak performance' talk 

All interested people are welcome at a free talk on 'Limitations to Success: The Body and Achieving Peak Performance', from 7pm on Wednesday, August 23, at CQU Rockhampton (building 18).

The talk is the latest in the 2006 Sport Science Series, hosted by the School of Health & Human Performance. It will be presented by Anouska Edwards, a physiotherapist with CQ Physio Group in Rockhampton. Ms Edwards has degrees in exercise science and physiotheraphy.

She is also a keen sportsperson and has represented Queensland twice at the Australian Track Cycling Championships. Ms Edwards is a a member of the Queensland Academy of Sports Women's Endurance Cycling Talent Program and has been involved in lecturing junior QAS development squads.
