Chanel College students visit Gladstone campus

Year 11 students from Chanel College visited the CQU Gladstone campus this week to experience the university lifestyle.

The students spent the day attending lectures and tutorials which had been designed and prepared especially for their visit.

PhotoID:2866 CQU Gladstone community relations officer, Shannon Law said the day aimed to help the year 11 students start thinking about their options after high school.

“Although these students won’t be going into university until 2008 it is important that we start raising their awareness to the types of programs available and the things they should be doing between now and then to help themselves prepare,” said Ms Law.

The students were able to choose 2 tutorials to attend and were also given sessions on planning their career and the costs of university. Staff from all faculties participated in the day ensuring the students were exposed to a variety of subject areas.
