Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Former detention centre manager 'books' date for Sydney graduation 

A total of 185 graduates from around 30 different nations are celebrating at CQUniversity's Sydney Town Hall graduation this afternoon (May 13). One of them will be PhD graduate Peter Mitchell, whose research reflected on the process of preparing a book about his career as an immigration officer and detention centre manager.

Three Professional Doctorate (Transdisciplinary Studies) students - Wipanee Pengnate, Theerarat Samrejvanich  and Surachit Phongsinghvithya - will also mark their graduation. 

The State Director's leadership awards are going to:

Monika Arora who completed a Master of Information Systems and

Shafquat Rafiul Alam who completed a Bachelor of Business (Marketing).

Monika will deliver the Closing Address on Behalf of the Graduates.
