CQU hosts visitor from King's College London

CQU was a co-sponsor of this week's Queensland visit by Dr Christine Harrison, Director of the Assessment Group at King’s College London, who uses assessment to help teachers enhance learning.
Dr Harrison has consulted on assessment for learning projects in California, Scotland and England and is a popular speaker at national and international conferences.
Dr Harrison delivered workshops for local primary and secondary teachers and pre-service teachers, including sessions at Bundaberg (August 2), Gladstone (August 3), Rockhampton (August 3) and Mackay (August 4).
CQU staff members John Hunt (Bundaberg), Dr Allan Harrison (Rockhampton) and Rosie Thrupp (Bundaberg) helped organise Dr Harrison's schedule, which also included events at Gold Coast North, Brisbane Central, Brisbane North, the Sunshine Coast and Townsville.
Ms Thrupp said a full house at Bundaberg was possibly the highlight of the visit.
"The lecture theatre was full and overflowing. Of the Bundaberg audience of 102, 45 were from the CQU campus. Many of these participants came in from their Internship, while others were participating in the course, Ensuring Student Success," Ms Thrupp said. "At Brisbane Central, participants included Graham Maxwell (Queensland Studies Authority) and Bob Macallister (Education Queensland, Curriculum Strategies Unit).
"Christine presented many stories from the field, with some being particularly significant.".
