Around 25 Study Aboard, AustraLearn and exchange students were farewelled during a ceremony in the CQU International courtyard.
International Student Support Officer Shuron Billman said Academic Board president Professor Alan Knight was the special guest and presented the students with their achievement certificates.
Professor Knight’s time in Hong Kong as a foreign correspondent proved valuable as he was able to converse with students from Hong Kong in their own language.
Prof Knight told the assembled guests that CQU international students provided significant learning opportunities for staff, other students and the community generally.
\"International students provide a foundation for developing an international perspective in the University and an international curriculum,\" he said.
The ceremony included two postgraduate students - MBA students from Vietnam and Thailand.
IDP Peace scholarship holders from Mexico and Columbia also attended the event.
The others were predominantly from the USA, Germany and Sweden.
