Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Tourism lecturer motivates operators

CQU Rockhampton Marketing and Tourism lecturer Jillian Litster has been encouraging tourism operators around regional Queensland to enter the Queensland Tourism Awards for 2003.

PhotoID:838 Ms Litster conducted workshops in how to enter the prestigious competition for Queensland Tourism in Rockhampton earlier this month and Mackay and the Whitsundays this week.

Ms Litster was one of the judges last year for the State awards and will again judge this year.

She said she was pleased to be able to judge again this year, assisting the Queensland Tourism Industry Council and Tourism Queensland.

Ms Litster is currently on long service leave from CQU.
