Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Diabetes specialist visits for workshops 

A Diabetes Educator-Registered Nurse from Queensland Health, Marie Melksham has spent a day on Rockhampton Campus with second-year nursing students.

PhotoID:2769 "Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects nearly 20% of the population," Ms Melksham said.

"A basic understanding of diabetes and its complications and aims of treatment will allow our future registered nurses to support those people with diabetes they encounter."
