Cross-gender dressing fashion shows, 'survivor' style obstacle courses and cardboard box-car racing were among the activities completed by 125 first-year Bachelor of Learning Management students on Tuesday.
Education lecturer Avril Rose said this was the second time students had facilitated the activities at the PCYC that related to increasing self-esteem and developing team-building skills.
“The activities are designed to promote the importance of communication and team building, with an emphasis placed on transferring these skills into the classroom,” she said.
“Apart from completing hours of fun activities, the students also learn more about one another and how to communicate and make decisions in certain circumstances.
“Leading up to these activities the students have dealt with matters relating to conflict resolution, communication techniques and organisational skills.”.
Video and audio-tape analysis of the workshop form part of this term’s assessment for the Network and Partnership unit of study.
