Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Uni can inject fresh ideas for business and industry 

CQUniversity promotes innovation and growth within businesses through learning opportunities, student internships, consultancy projects involving research experts, or joint R & D activities.

Specialised training can be arranged via the University's industry pathway projects in addition to traditional university degree options.

Businesses can also ramp up recruitment by interacting with advanced students or by creating specialized scholarship programs.

Many specialised University departments are available for consultancy or joint R&D work, including the Centre for Environmental Management, the Centre for Railway Engineering, the Institute for Health and Social Science Research, the Centre for Plant and Water Science, the Centre for Process Engineering and Light Metals, the Business Research Group, the Power Engineering Group and the Centre for Professional Health Education.

Campus buildings also offer great venues for business networking.
