Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Pomp and ceremony for 454 in Sydney 

Pomp and ceremony were features of the CQU Sydney graduation recently.

A total of 454 graduates from 41 countries crossed the stage after completing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.

Consular officials attended to represent Bangladesh, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Turkey and Taiwan.

Other officials included Vice-Chancellor Professor John Rickard, Chancellor Rennie Fritschy, Ken Hawkins (GM of CQU\\\\\\\'s Australian International Campuses) and Mark Skinner (Chairman and CEO of Campus Group Holdings).

The guest speaker was Marcus Blackmore AM, Chairman of renowned vitamin and herbal product company, Blackmores Ltd.
