Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Four of the Faculty of Informatics & Communication’s prestigious prizes were awarded at the annual Prize Winners\' Ceremony in Rockhampton last week.

CQU Foundation representative Reegan Bickey presented Klaye Morrison with the Rockhampton Community Services Club Informatics Prize for achieving the highest GPA in the first year of the Bachelor of Multimedia, with all courses taken in the first year.

PhotoID:1841 Megan Winter was awarded the WIN Television Qld Pty Ltd Public Relations Prize after achieving the best combined result in Public Relations Management & Public Relations Practice. WIN Television Network’s Queensland Promotions & Publicity Manager Tracie Windley presented the prize.

Tracie Windley also presented Natalie Mills with the WIN Television Qld Pty Ltd Broadcasting Journalsim Prize for achieving the best result in Television Journalism.

Berenice Payne from Zonta Rockhampton, presented Miranda Berry with the Zonta International - Rockhampton Club Encouragement Award. Ms Berry won the award by achieving the highest GPA over the first two years of full-time study of her undergraduate program.
