Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Scholarships up for grabs at info night 

Central Queensland University will hold an Engineering Co-op Information Night this Thursday, September 1, from 7.30pm in Rockhampton.

The session will be hosted from building 29 G.05, and will be video-conferenced to Mackay, Gladstone and Bundaberg campuses.

People attending will have the chance to win one of 12 $1000 scholarships for the Bachelor of Engineering Co-op Program. The scholarships will be awarded to students intending to enrol in CQU’s Bachelor of Engineering (Co-op)/Diploma of Professional Practice (Engineering) program.

The session is recommended for Year 11 and 12 students and their parents. Attendants will learn about why mixing learning and work is better, what current Co-op students think about their course, and how some Co-op students work overseas.
