The poetry and short story categories offer $2000 in cash prizes and outstanding entries will be published in the 2008 Idiom 23 Literary Magazine.

This competition has over the years attracted some of our best Australian short story and poetry writers as well as emerging writers. Idiom 23's editorial committee is also keen to encourage young Australians to write for the competition.

Entries are again invited from primary, secondary and tertiary-level students and in the Open and Regional categories.
